Terms & Conditions of Hire

Thank-you for travelling with Kingshouse Travel (here in after referred to as ‘the company’). Our Terms & Conditions of Hire can be found below. They form the basis of the contract under which the company agrees to hire its vehicles to the customer (here in after referred to as ‘the hirer’).

Acceptance of any quotation from the company implies acceptance of the following conditions.

General Hire Information.

1.0

In accordance with Scottish legislation all coaches, buses and vehicles in our fleet are non-smoking. It is a criminal offence to smoke or knowingly permit smoking within an enclosed public space.

1.1

Under no circumstances is alcohol allowed to be consumed this applies to all coaches, buses and vehicles in our fleet. This condition is strictly non-negotiable and will be strictly enforced by drivers and crew members of the company.

1.2

The company will not be responsible for any damage to, or loss of, personal property left in vehicles, however caused.

1.3

The company does not guarantee to complete any journey in any given time, and will not be accountable for any loss or inconvenience which may arise from the delay or detention of any vehicle arising from any cause whatsoever.

1.4

The balance of the hire is charge is payable at least seven days prior to the date of hire. (The company reserves the right to decline to execute any work when the foregoing condition has not been adhered to).

1.5

Any additional requirements must be mentioned at the time of booking. e.g. Multiple Pick-ups/Drop-offs and additional seating requirements (car/booster seats).

1.6

No passengers may be carried in excess of the seating capability of the vehicle. A child counts as a passenger.

1.7

The company reserves the right to substitute vehicles with those of other operators' in place of its own.

Additional Applicable Charges

2.0

It is policy of the compay that if any damage is caused to a coach, bus or any other vehicle the hirer will be liable for any damage caused by either themselves or a member of their party.

2.1

It is policy of the company to charge a minimum of £40 to the hirer for the cost of excess cleaning to the coach, bus or vehicle e.g chewing gum on seats.

2.2

The company reserves the right to impose additional charges on the hirer following completion of hire if having required additional time or mileage which was not included in the original booking.

2.3

Should a vehicle be detained by the hirer, or taken on a longer journey than contracted for, the company reserves the right to make a proportionate additional charge.

2.4

The company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee for any cancellation within thirty days of the date of hire. This fee shall not exceed the total hire charge quoted at the time of booking.

Right of Refusal

3.0

The company reserves the right to refuse to carry ANY drunk, aggressive, abusive or otherwise badly behaved passengers at the sole discretion of the driver of the coach or crew member.

3.1

The company reserves the right to terminate the hire agreement, return all funds paid to the hirer and have no further liability.

Drivers Hours Regulations

4.0

The hirer undertakes to abide by all statutory requirements and regulations which may in any way effect the journey in question.

Drivers are familiar with these regulations and whilst they will conform to any reasonable request made by members of the party (as to the reasonableness of any request that the driver alone shall be the judge), they will, as far as possible, depart from the destination or intermediate stopping places at times agreed beforehand (or specified by the driver) and to ensure compliance with the regulations will on no account wait for members of the party who may have failed to join the vehicle at the time so appointed.

The company declines all liability for any loss, inconvenience, damage or injury arising from failure to convey any such members of the party.
